We know that recycling protects our planet in a number of ways. It reduces greenhouse gas emissions, it reduces the size of landfills, and it preserves non-renewable resources. By doing all of these things it indirectly helps all living things on the planet. Reducing emissions means less habitat loss due to climate change. Reducing the size of landfills does the same thing because landfills take up what would be habitable space. Preserving non-renewable resources means that fewer have to be mined or drilled for in animal habitats. Recycling clearly helps wildlife.
